Cast Iron Bracket for 1-inch Flagpole Jul 07, 2009
By Lucchese
"festina lente"
Hefty cast-iron - Super Strong & Durable - well painted inside & out. Fantastic Value
* fits 1-inch diameter flagpole
* has thumb-screw to secure pole
* wall-mount area is 3.6" high by 2.3" wide
* 3 holes for mounting screws
* Weight: 1 lb, 6 oz
* from Evergreen Enterprises, Item# 03048
INSTALLATION TIP: first attach the bracket to a hard-wood base, then mount the wood-base on the wall - provides stress-relief for wall-mount hardware. We used a piece of Trex-decking as the wood-base, milled with a router. (see photos above)
UPDATE August 2011 --
* 2-years of weather & use, still looks new

Works and Looks Good Sep 19, 2009
By David Bower My bracket came in the mail and was impressive to look at.
I had two problems getting it installed and operational; the first problem, which I encountered before I mounted it, was a burr inside which kept the flag pole from sliding all the way in. That was solved by using a file to file the burr down so the flag pole could go all the way in.
The second problem was with the screws provided with the bracket; they had a slotted head that was so shallow that no screw driver that I had would turn them. I replaced those screws with some better quality phillps head screws and got the bracket mounted successfully.
It is important to note that the two top screw holes are not even; the right screw hole is higher that the left one so using a level on the screw holes won't work. I leveled the bracket by eye and it came out just fine.

Solid product. Oct 13, 2009
By E. Mead I agree with the other reviews here. I get a lot of wind at times and two plastic flag holders had failed on me. This one is going to be fine- it's very solid.

Great, solid holders Apr 04, 2011

These do the job and look great - just make sure you anchor them - you may need to buy your own anchors for certain materials (i.e. stucco and concrete). Very good quality!

Solid Jan 26, 2012

"Access to the Federal Government is not a privilege, It is a constitutional right."
I replaced a plastic holder with this one (cast iron). It is heavy and strong. The 3x5 flag has been through some serious wind storms in the past few months and has been held firmly and safely in place. A very good product for the price.
